Q What if the claim fails?
This will not cost you anything as North East Claims Ltd have a relationship with an after the event insurer. With most cases the client will not have to pay for the insurance policy as this Company will effectively provide a policy where the premium is paid for. There may be some circumstances where the Company refuses to run a claim therefore the client will have to pay for the insurance.
Q Can I claim compensation?

If you have suffered an injury which wasn’t your fault in the last three years then you may be entitled to compensation. If the accident happened when you were below 18 years of age you have until you are 21 to register your claim.

Q How much will I get?

Your compensation award will depend upon the extent of your injuries, your loss of earnings and any out of pocket expenses.

Q Will I have to pay to make a claim?

Through North East Claims Ltd you receive 100% of the compensation awarded and it won’t cost you anything if you lose.

Q Who will handle my case?

North East Claims Ltd are dedicated to providing a high standard of service. We ensure that you receive the best representation.

Q Will I need to go to court?

It is very unlikely that you will be required to go to court as around 90% of claims are settled out of court.

Q What is the difference between a lawyer and a claims management company?

A lawyer is a qualified practitioner and as such is regulated by their professional body. Claims management companies act as middlemen, not actually handling the claims themselves.

Q What is 'no win - no fee'?

A very popular question as this phrase has become a buzz word of the industry and does not really convey the bigger picture, or indeed state any restrictions. A short article on no win no fee claims has been written but the short version is that no win no fee is available on most claim types in Scotland, England and Wales. The only reason this would not be offered is if the case is particularly tricky and the solicitor states clearly to you that there is not much chance of winning. A solicitor will still take on a case that he feels has a less than 51% chance of success but only if you pay the legal fees as you go, obviously should the case lose you will lose that invested money. Your solicitor will make it clear well before you sign anything whether there will be the "no win, no fee" arrangement available.

Q What are "disbursements"?

Disbrusements is the money which your solicitor has to pay to third parties to help prepare your case. For example, court fees, fees for medical or other expert reports.
